I have been rather vague about exactly what I’m planning to do to launch my writing career, partly because the details of it keep changing as I get new ideas. But I am now ready to let you all know what my plan is for the next few months at least, which is not at all what I had planned to do at the beginning of the year!

I will release a series of short stories, at the moment I have six in the works though it may end up with more if it goes well. And I will publish them two weeks apart. At the moment I am playing with Amazon and working out how to format and upload the files, so I’m not exactly sure when the first one will be published as that is taking longer than I had anticipated! Maybe I’ll have the first one out this week, though I will announce it as soon as it’s live. So keep an eye out.

When that publishes I will set up a preorder for the next one, and they should roll like that. To start with I plan to enroll them in Kindle Unlimited, which means that they will be exclusively available to Amazon. If you regularly read ebooks on a different platform (and would like to read mine!) then please comment below with which platform you use and I will investigate publishing there too in the future.

My first story will be The Weaver’s Daughter: a short fairy tale about making friends with the monster that lives next door.

As well as starting to publish I have launched a Patreon page. Patreon is a crowdfunding platform for artists of all types. You can pledge a monthly amount to give artists you support a certain level of regular income and develop a community around what they produce.

By pledging you can join my community on Patreon and you will be the group I go to for advice on what I’m doing. Think cover designs, character names, which story to work on next, etc. For all the details, and what I offer to higher tiers look at my Patreon page.  I look forward to seeing you there!
