Again in 2021 I hit my reading target on goodreads of 100 books. (Check out my profile and friend me on goodreads if you want to see what I read and interact on there.) So it is time to review them and pick out the ones which were my favourites. This is much harder than it seems!

This is how you lose the time war by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone – this book shouldn’t work, as it is a love story between two people who never spend time together. But it does. It is heart rending and full of tiny details. The sort of book you need to read slowly to savour.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber – Wow, this is amazing. I’m now reading the rest of the series.

The invisible life of Addie la Rue by Victoria Schwab – another slow book to savour and contemplate as it goes.

Curse of the Wolf King – full of emotions and a relatable heroine you can’t help but root for.

Faerie Fallen by Carol Beth Anderson – I am still in a big fae mood, and this one takes so many of the common fae tropes and subverts them.

Have you read these? What were your best books of last year? What are you excited to read this year? Let me know in the comments or on social media or check out my goodreads to see what I’m reading now.
