A is for Appel
Standard alphabet learning isn’t it! But there’s also aardappel – literally earth apple, or potato; and sinasappel – orange, though I’m not sure what sinaas means.

Now I’m curious… Is aardvark a Dutch word too?
Ooh, interesting question. Seems it’s from Afrikaans (which is very similar to Dutch) and means earth pig. Pig is varken in Dutch. And the Dutch word is aardvarken!
Stopping by on the first day of the challenge. I’m sure you agree, a lot of work, but I love meeting new bloggers and these interesting themes. If you have time and have an interest in bookshops/books, come on tour with me starting with Avid Books in Athens Ga. I’ll be back.
Welcome! Thanks for stopping by
