Over the first few months of this year, as well as working on my dragon book – available now for preorder – I have been working out how i work best and using that to make my plans for the next few years. Writing, editing and publishing a novel is a large undertaking, which takes alternating periods of intense focus with letting the story rest before you go back to it. Then when you consider that this book is planned to be the first in a trilogy that work is going to be extended three times to finish the whole series.

Personally I find it works best for me if I have two projects to switch between. That means that I can make progress on the second project while I am leaving the first one alone for a bit. And vice versa.

With this is mind I am working on two series. The first is my “Dragon of Kaitstud” series, and the second will be called “The Lost Princess of Starlight”. This will also be a YA epic fantasy trilogy, but rather than about dragons it will be about fae. It will tell the story of a girl called Zoe who finds a way into the faery realm and learns she is not who she thought she was. I am really excited about this book and the characters that you will get to meet. I am not going to set up a preorder til much closer to the time that I will publish it, as I am still focusing on Dragon Shift right now. And I want that to be available as soon as I can get it up to the standard I am happy with and it is ready to be published. Once I am closer to publishing that I will share more information about Fae Fair, and I plan to alternate publishing books in both series.

But, I am proud to be part of a group of other Fae and fantasy authors who are running an Instagram challenge for #MayFaeReads. We will have giveaways of fae books and other swag, as well as a photo challenge for every day of the month. If you are on Instagram then come and join in for a chance to win some amazing prizes.
