We’ve been having a series of discussions at MPOW about what the Library service should look like in five years time. I get the vibes that this is expected to be radically different from what we’re doing now, but so far no-one has come up with any idea that’s drastically different from what we already do. Change focus and different priorities, maybe, but basically continue with what we’re doing. Which I find quite re-assuring really. As an organisation I think we’re fairly forward-looking and ahead of the game in many ways, so it’s good to know that we’re going in roughly the right direction. Obviously with the current financial situation and ELQ we will need to tighten our belts and think about some of the activities that are more peripheral to our core objectives, but essentially it looks like we’re doing the right things.
